White Cliffs Underground

Tunnel, Noah's Ark Rd. Dover

This tunnel situated above Noah's Ark Road Dover, appears to have been dug to carry a pipe through the hillside. The tunnel runs for about 50 to 60 yards approx. due south, before being blocked by fallen chalk. There was an isolation hospital in Noah's Ark Road and the tunnel was running in that direction, so there may be a connection there. What the pipe carried or why it was thought necessary to dig a tunnel so near the top of the hill remain a mystery.
