Old Folkestone Road Bunker

The photos on this page are of a bunker (plotting room) sunk into the hillside on the opposite side of the valley a couple of hundred yards south of the Magazine in the Old Folkestone Road. The plotting room was in remarkably good condition and the interior fittings were mostly still in place at this time. This bunker appears to have been buried or destroyed during the construction of the new M20-A20 Folkestone to Dover link road. There is now no trace of the site. A large section of the Old Folkestone Rd. has completely vanished. The photos were taken in Dec.1977.
