White Cliffs Underground

St. Margaret's Deep Shelter

Situated at end of Sea View Road, St. Margaret's near Dover. This deep shelter is in an area near the South Forelands Lighthouse that had several large ex-naval guns with supporting barracks, stores, and magazines. These photos were taken in Jan.1977, when the main bricked up entrance to the shelter was open. The secondary entrance was sealed at the top of the concrete steps. There is currently no access as of Jan.2001.
